    At the beginning of the year, DATRON AG created the DATRON Digital Experience Days for customers and interested parties to take part in exciting live demos of the smart DATRON technologies, virtually from anywhere and independently of the trade show calendar.

    From 14 to 18 September 2020, the DATRON Digital Experience Days are now going into the 2nd round. The concept once again includes numerous highlights relating to the smart DATRON product portfolio and now also promises up-close DATRON experiences in the realistic virtual exhibition hall, the DATRON Digital Showroom. Information and exciting video tutorials on the high-speed milling machines, DATRON milling tools, software and after-sales solutions are available the entire week free of charge and without registration. In addition, pre-registered participants of the daily live events receive exclusive insights into the technologies and can make use of the direct exchange with DATRON experts.

    On January 29, the milling machine specialist invites to Muehltal and presents together with well-known partners smart technologies of today and the trends of tomorrow. The highlights of the second DATRON Tech Day include, in addition to exciting presentations by DATRON experts, the keynote by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Weigold on the topic of "Digitization of production - illusion or disruption?", the Customer Success Story of Lorenz Hoffmann GmbH, as well as the exclusive preview of the smart DATRON technology highlights 2020.
     

    New standards in terms of user-friendliness and efficiency


    With up to 143 tool places, DATRON ToolAssist, as the first external DATRON tool changer outside the machining area, creates the optimal conditions for a greater variety of tools and the use of sister tools in serialproduction. DATRON ToolAssist combines common tool systems and well-known CNC accessories for an even more efficient production and is an integral part of the DATRON MXCube, but also available for the milling machines DATRON M8Cube and DATRON MLCube. Together with the new software options of the innovative DATRON next control and other software highlights DATRON presents digital solutions for the production of the future.

    Higher productivity and process reliability - the new DATRON neo Series 2

    In 2016, the machine manufacturer from Mühltal in southern Hesse surprised the trade public with its smart and compact DATRON neo high-speed milling machine. In combination with the DATRON next control system, this dynamic all-rounder makes it possible even for milling beginners to become immediately productive - even without years of special training.

    Three years after the official world premiere of the DATRON neo at the AMB in Stuttgart, the 400th DATRON neo in May left the production of the South Hessian machine manufacturer. In order to further increase the performance of that rock star among the compact milling machines, the DATRON neo was further enhanced and promises even higher productivity and process reliability in Series 2.

    Thanks to a new more powerful computer, the DATRON neo convinces with increased performance rates, which can further accelerate workflows in the future. The proven XYZ sensor TP-R ensures higher process reliability and a measuring accuracy of +/- 0.01 mm. In combination with the DATRON next camera feature, the workpiece‘s zero point can be easily, reliably and precisely set. In addition, the Series 2 is equipped with a new cooling unit, that allows much easier filling and monitoring of the coolant flow. The optional monitoring of the applied vacuum setting and the filling status of the coolant tank provides an additional level of process reliability.

    DATRON neo makes it (all) easy

    In addition to the new technical highlights, the proven features of the DATRON neo remain unchanged. The compact high-speed milling machine offers an uncomplicated and safe set-up of workpieces due to the ergonomic and frontal access to the working area. The machine is suitable for small series, design models as well as for prototyping applications.

    The 3-axis milling machine turns ideas into real projects. Prototypes made of composite materials, plastics or wood are created quickly and with consistent quality. The innovative compact milling machine relieves the standard machine park in the production of small series components.     DATRON Tech Day 2019 - Passion for aluminum machining

    At the beginning of the new year DATRON AG invites to the first DATRON Tech Day at the main location in Mühltal-Traisa. The South Hesse milling machine specialist awaits its guests with entertaining multi-faceted specialist presentations embedded in a program full of hands-on innovations to touch.

    Start of a successful jubilee year

    On 24.01.2019, DATRON AG will be celebrating its 50th anniversary year with the first DATRON Tech Day and offers a varied and exciting range of aluminum processing programs. 50 years of DATRON AG, that means 50 years of innovation and passion for technology. "The aim of DATRON AG is to simplify complex processes for permanently reliable production." Thomas Frank, Director of Sales and Marketing.

    Infotainment in the DATRON Tech Academy

    One of the big highlights of the day's event is the keynote lecture by Prof. dr. Abele. The head of the Institute for Production Management, Technology and Machine Tools at the Technical University of Darmstadt offers deep insights into the success factors of aluminum processing, highlighting both the past and the promising future of the industry.

    In addition, all participants can look forward to interesting short presentations on the HSC machining of aluminum and experience the brand new DATRON MXCube live under chip.

    For the application example of a smartphone housing made of aluminum, the compact DATRON neo milling machine (W 805 mm x D 1290 mm x H 1880 mm, without operating terminal) successfully faces numerous challenges and proves its technical skills in the manufacture of thin-walled geometries and complex structures.

    After it has milled the workpiece dynamically from the solid, the innovative DATRON neo cleanly transfers filigree pins and bars as well as engraving details on curved surfaces, providing a high surface quality and overall high-quality milling results.

    DATRON AG Receives Red Dot Award for Control Software

    DATRON next receives the prestigious Red Dot Award in the category Communication Design for the first time

    The future of manufacturing technology and thus the future of work are among the key aspects of DATRON’s product development. Functional design but in particular measurable customer benefits were a priority in the conception of the new DATRON control software DATRON next.  This resulted in DATRON AG recently being awarded the Red Dot Award: Communication Design, thus receiving a prize in the Category User Interface Design for the first time.

    In a highly complex technology world, DATRON next, the control software of the brand new and revolutionary 3-axis milling machine DATRON neo, stands out particularly through its easy to understand operating concept. DATRON next convinced the international Red Dot jury members owing to its ultimate user-friendliness and high design quality for which the DATRON in-house design department is responsible. In the age of the fourth industrial revolution, DATRON AG sets new standards in the field of tool machines with DATRON neo and DATRON next.

    Based on the Plug & Play principle, even less experienced operators and HSC beginners can control the 3-axis milling machine DATRON neo right away using the easily understandable DATRON next software. The user interface is intuitive for the user due to its control style via swipe gestures similar to a smartphone and the software interface in tile design. Using wizards and an integrated camera, the machine operator is led through the milling programme in just a few steps and aided by self-explanatory icons and realistic tools and components shown in 3D for fast identification of various machine functions.

    Gregor Leinfelder (28), Head of Product Management at DATRON, considers the first Red Dot Communication Award as the first confirmation of a highly successful R&D approach: “In developing the new DATRON next control software, we have taken into account the change of generation among operators.     DATRON AG could already rejoice in July over its fourth Red Dot Industrial Design Award, received this year for its revolutionary 3-axis milling machine.     As a fully equipped HSC milling machine DATRON neo convinces amongst other things with its ultra-compact size (B 80 cm x D 130 cm x H 190 cm, 700 kg), which fits through a standard door. The all-rounder for manufacturing individual parts and small quantities allows a focused machining of particularly aluminum, nonferrous metals, wood, plastics and composites. With its high-frequency 2 kW spindle the Red Dot Award-winning product innovation achieves with small tools excellent surfaces and filigree engraving details, and due to its ability to machine diverse materials is also a very flexible complementary machine in conventional production environments.

    Based on the plug & play principle even less experienced operators and HSC beginners can immediately control the 3-axis DATRON neo milling machine by means of the brand new and easy to understand DATRON next software. Operation with swipe gestures makes milling almost as easy as using your smartphone. Assistant functionalities and an integrated camera, guide the machinist with few steps through the milling program, supporting with self-explanatory icons and realistic 3D tool illustrations and components help quickly identify various functions. The absolute highlight of the machine is the combination of the camera in the interior with the sensitive multi-touch display.     The DATRON AG, a medium-sized mechanical engineering company from Germany, receives a Red Dot Design Award for the revolutionary 3-axis milling machine DATRON neo. The new product is the fourth DATRON machine that is awarded the coveted design trophy.

    For the pioneering CNC milling machine DATRON neo DATRON AG once again received one of the prestigious Red Dot Design Awards in the industrial design category. The all-rounder machine for short run production and for prototyping convinced the international jury. The latest DATRON product innovation thus is in great  of high-speed cutting CNC milling machine M8 Cube, which in 2013 received the Red Dot Award, as well as the high-precision dental milling machine D5 and compact desktop machine D1, which received the renowned seals of approval in 2010 respectively 2015.
